First, you travel for two hours to the airport, then you eat something there, and around 10 am you board the boat. You arrive at Simalanda around 11:30 am, but it was incredibly crowded. Our guide Momo was full of beans, along with the rest of the team. At Maya Beach, it was nice to be there ahead of the crowds and watch the baby sharks swim around. When there, our guides also brought tea/coffee and delicious banana bread for us to enjoy with the view. Kayaking through Hong Island and it's hidden caves felt magical! “A typhoon causing heavy rain and winds made us not able to go to this booking on the day, the operator would not refund and viators rules would not allow either, although the weather bureau recommended small boat not be on the water! Viator staff tried their best to help us - but the operator said they were going out regardless. It would have been an awful experience - we are boating people and know they shouldn't have operated on this day!”
